About
I’m Greg Colligan, an oil painter based in the Seattle area.
My work is representational realism. I paint figures, portraits, humans, and pets, and I focus on capturing each subject’s essence with a painterly, impressionistic style while maintaining a high level of realism. My painting technique is direct wet-on-wet, or alla prima, usually on a linen-wrapped panel.
I’ve also worked as a professional tattoo artist for over 20 years, which has made me a patient, careful observer.
I’m open to commissions for almost any subject, as long as it suits my style. Most of the requests I accept are for portraits of people and pets. If you have something in mind, you can start a commission here.
Outside the studio, I enjoy working out, pursuing other creative projects, watching the Seahawks with my girlfriend, and hanging out with our American Bully, Lulu.
