Quiet Indulgence

Quiet Indulgence

A steady, smoky-eyed gaze above a hand still sticky with something hot. The painting plays with contrast throughout: cool, porcelain skin against deep, near-black shadow; polished pearls against messy hot sauce; careful detail in the eyes against loose, scrubbed strokes in the hand and the foreground. The lower edge dissolves into amber washes, raw canvas, and vertical drips, leaving the process in plain view.

First painting in the Indulgence series. It’s a portrait with presence and a sense of humor, rich in color and texture.
